Woven in Yeola and protected by a Geographical Indication tag, every Paithani is an interlocking tapestry — its border and body woven as one, never stitched. A single saree takes a master weaver up to three months to complete. The reverse of the pallu mirrors the front exactly: no loose threads, no shortcuts. Peacocks, parrots, and lotus motifs rendered in geometric precision. Dense zari that settles on the shoulder with a dignified, unmistakable weight. This is not a saree — it is a certificate of civilisation.
Care: Dry clean only. Store in muslin. Avoid moisture.
Woven from tightly twisted silk yarns, organza has a crisp, luminous quality that catches light differently at every angle. Tissue sarees interweave metallic zari into a translucent base — creating an almost liquid shimmer. Both are ideal for evening occasions, receptions, and Diwali celebrations where you want presence without the heaviness of traditional silks. Light enough to fold into a clutch, striking enough to fill a room. AVĀNTI curates only examples from artisans who understand the balance between structure and grace.
Care: Cool iron only. Avoid sharp folds.
Produced under the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation and protected by its own GI certification, genuine Mysore Silk carries a creamy, buttery texture unlike any other Indian silk. Its characteristic Mysore crepe finish and flush zari borders — woven in a two-shuttle technique — sit cleanly against the body with no raised edge. Understated yet deeply elegant, a Mysore Silk is the choice of those who understand that true luxury never announces itself. It rewards the eye only on close inspection.
Care: Dry clean only. Store in cool, dry place.
Born on the ghats of Varanasi, the Banarasi draws centuries of Mughal influence into its silk — layering Persian florals, intricate jaals, and architectural brocades onto kataan or kora silk bases. Real zari, worked with gold or silver, creates a weight that is unmistakable from the moment you hold it. The canonical bridal choice across generations, and increasingly, a coveted heirloom across all of India. Regal in intent, enduring in legacy, and entirely without compromise in its craft.
Care: Dry clean only. Iron on low heat.
Known as the queen of silks, the Kanjivaram is woven using pure mulberry silk for both warp and weft — giving it an extraordinary structural weight and a lustre that deepens with age. The border and body are woven separately then interlocked, making them inseparable yet visually distinct. Rich contrasting borders, temple motifs, and traditional checks define the aesthetic. A Kanjivaram does not age — it deepens. Its silk grows more luminous with every year it is worn and every careful fold it is given.
Care: Dry clean only. Fold along zari lines.
AVĀNTI's cotton and linen selection draws from the finest regional traditions — fine Chanderi cotton-silks from Madhya Pradesh, naturally dyed Maheshwari weaves, and handspun linen from Bengal's heritage looms. These are sarees for the woman who wears them on a Tuesday morning as confidently as a Sunday puja. They breathe, soften with wear, and develop a beautiful patina over time. Simple, honest, and entirely without compromise on craft. Worn daily, loved for decades.
Care: Hand wash cold or dry clean. Store folded in cotton.
Our story is still being woven. AVĀNTI opens its doors with a foundation of family expertise, craft accountability, and deep reverence for Maharashtrian textile heritage. Trust is not declared - it is earned, thread by thread.
Each Paithani begins at a handloom in Yeola, where a single saree may take weeks to complete. The interlocking weft technique - a hallmark of authentic Paithani - creates the luminous border that cannot be replicated by machine.
From Diwali nights and wedding vows to quiet everyday moments - our collection embraces every occasion. There is a saree for grandeur, and one for gentle grace, all chosen with the same devotion to craft.
